Are the Counters really connected in real-time? What is the update frequency?

Our Facebook and Instagram Counters update in real-time, i.e once every 2 to 10 seconds.
It's simply due to the fact that the information has to go from your Like/Follow all the way to your Counter through both Facebook's and our servers.

It's quite the distance in just a handful of seconds :)
