How to connect your Custom Counter to Mailchimp via Zapier?
If you need to create an integration between Zapier and Mailchimp for your Smiirl Custom Counter, this article is for you :)
- To start, please open the Zapier website. Log in with your preferred method, or click ‘Sign up’ to create a new account.
- Once you’re logged in, please click ‘Create’ → Zaps
- Then, click on ‘Trigger’ and add ‘Mailchimp.’
- Once you have selected Mailchimp as a trigger, you can proceed to select the details of Trigger event. You will be able to choose between the following options:
- Email Opened
- Link Clicked
- New Audience
- New Campaign
- New Customer
- New or Updated Subscriber
- New Order
- New Subscriber
- New Subscriber in Segment or Tag
- New Unsubscriber
For this example, we will select ‘New Subscriber.’
- Next, please log in to your Mailchimp account, if you haven’t already. Once you are logged in, please click ‘Continue.’
- Then, you will need to select the Audience that you want to act as a trigger. Please select from the proposed options from your Mailchimp account. After that, please click ‘Continue.’
- Now, you are ready to click ‘Test Trigger.’
- Once the sample records for the test have loaded, you can click ‘Continue with selected records.’
- The next step is to select the Action. Please select ‘Smiirl.’
- For this integration, Smiirl as Action proposes the following options:
- Add Value
- Decrement Value (-1)
- Increment Value (+1)
- Reset to 0
- Set Value
For this example, we will select ‘Increment Value (+1).’
- Once the Action event is selected, please log in to your Smiirl account if you haven’t already. Then, click ‘Continue.’
- Then, select your Custom Counter. Please note that to be visible on Zapier, your Custom Counter has to be set to a ‘Push Number’ option on my.smiirl.com. Once the Custom Counter is selected, please click ‘Continue’.
- Next, you can either select ‘Test Step’ or ‘Skip Test.’ For this example, we will proceed with ‘Test Step.’
- If the result displayed on the Custom Counter matches your expectations and corresponds to the selected configuration, you can click ‘Publish.’
And that’s it! Your Zap is now published 🙂
