How to connect your Custom Counter to Wordpress via Zapier

If you would like to connect your Smiirl Custom Counter to your Wordpress account and have flaps turning, for example, each time a new user subscribes to your website, here are the instructions to follow :)

  1. Please open the Zapier website and log in using the most convenient method for you, for example, “Continue with Google”

  1. Click on “+ Create”

  1. Click on “Zaps”

  1. Click on “Trigger” and in the pop-up menu select needed integration. In this case, Wordpress.

  1. Then on the left side please select the event that you want to be considered as a trigger for the Counter to update the displayed value. For example, one trigger is “New User” which makes your Counter update each time you gain a new user.

  1. After the needed event is selected, please proceed to connect your Wordpress account by clicking “Sign in”

Please note that in order to perform the authentication, Zapier plugin should be installed in your Wordpress site.

  1. Once your Wordpress account is connected, you can proceed to click on “Action” and search for “Smiirl”

  1. Once “Smiirl” is selected, please proceed to click on “Choose an event”. Then, from the drop-down menu select the needed action, for example, “Increment value (+1)”.

If previously you chose a “New User” option as a trigger, then choosing an increment value (+1) will send a signal to the desired Counter to update the value by 1 each time a new user subscribes.

Also, please note that for the Counter to be visible in Zapier, it has to be set on “Push number” option.

Once you are logged in, please select the needed Counter from the drop-down list and click ‘Continue’

  1. Once you selected all the needed information, you can click ‘Test step’ or ‘Skip Test’, as per your preference.

  1. Once the test is performed and no issues are found, you can either click “Retest Step” or “Publish”

That’s it!

If you encounter issues, you can either reach out to a Zapier support team or to our support team via support@smiirl.com and we will be glad to investigate the issue together.
