Facebook Migration: why?

In the following weeks, Smiirl will deploy a new software update that will use the new Facebook Graph API webhooks to fetch your Facebook pages' likes more efficiently.

In other words, we'll use a new technology that is going to be more efficient in transmitting data from Facebook to your Counters.

To do so, you'll be asked for permission for Smiirl to access your Facebook page. ๐Ÿ™‚

Don't worry, this permission is only used to get the number of Likes of your Facebook page, and that is all (otherwise, that'd be not cool).

What happens if I donโ€™t give this authorization?

Your Counter will be less reactive. It might take longer to update the number of Likes if someone new likes your page. Besides, as the old API might be obsolete in the future, we recommend you to perform the Migration.

If you would like to know more about this we invite you to click here and read the official documentation that Facebook publishes for developers.

If you want to revoke this authorization you can. You always have control over your Facebook page, to have more information about it you can read the article: Facebook migration: Could I revoke the authorization?.

How do I migrate then?

For this change, you will have some clicks to do on your side. Don't worry, you will receive an email explaining every single step in due time if you haven't received one yet.
Also, this information is available in the following article our Help Center: Facebook migration: steps for our Like Counters.

See you soon ๐Ÿฆ†
